ABOUT

20230617_165741(0) (1).jpg

I've always had an eye for design -- stemming from 4-H projects designing dresses with my mom at a young age. And, I actually originally majored in fashion design! But, I began missing the relationship I had with plants (growing up a farm kid in South Dakota & being VERY active in the FFA Floriculture program) I changed my major to horticulture & earned my BS from the University of Nebraska. GO BIG RED!

While in college, among other things, I studied floral design. Although I do enjoy breaking out  scientific Latin plant names from time to time, I *try* to not nerd out too much about plants!

Prior to starting Platinum Petals, I managed greenhouses in the botanic garden world for over a decade & even won a national award being named the Young Grower of the Year - so, you can say that my thumbs are VERY green!

I love meeting new clients, learning about their story (and the DRESS), and brainstorming creative ways to bring their day to life. You'll know I'm especially excited about a particular idea when I start talking fast!

The best part about my job is the relationships that are formed and the feeling of accomplishment at the end of the day. Customer service is a #1 priority & I am dedicated to serving you in the best way possible. I never take the moments you've invited me into for granted.

A little about 'non-flower' me:

  • I've been married to my hubs, Brett, since 2012. We live in East Dallas.

  • I'm a big fan of college basketball, specifically the UNC Tar Heels & you can find me yelling at the games each winter.

  • I LOVE live music. It gives me chills. I've lost track of the number of concerts I've been to, and only have a few bands left on my 'bucket list'. I secretly aspire to be the lead singer of a rock band. Best concert: 30 Seconds to Mars for the whole experience, Muse for the set design, and Foo Fighters for the music.

  • My fav color is purple. Like the super vibrant shade. But, I find myself buying lots of navy clothes.

  • One of my favorite things to eat is fancy salads (mostly when other people make them), but I HATE when my foods touch on a plate. And yes, that makes no sense.

  • I was super shy as a kid (and still an introvert now), but my mom made me participate in speaking events & acting, and I was actually pretty good. VERY thankful for that!

Now that you've learned a bit about me -- can't wait to learn about you!

xoxo
